Five Minute Friday: BARE

5 Minute Friday | RACE

BARE

Start…

as soon as I saw BARE I could only think of one thing…

I still remember it like it was yesterday…I was at church camp, I was 13, I was depressed and I was alone. I was holding on to some VERY painful hurts and memories. I remember the night the pastor spoke….it was amazing…I was touched. I knew. He invited those who wanted to accept Jesus to come to the front…but I was a believer…I accepted Jesus when I was very young. Then he asked if there was anyone who needed to re commit or any one who needed prayer…I knew…I could hear the Lord telling me that I would all be ok. I went to the front of the room…totally and completely bare…with everything totally exposed to the Lord…he knew EVERYTHING…every single pain, every single memory, he knew it all…and he was the only one. I prayed, I asked God for forgiveness…but more than that I asked the Lord to give me a Heart of forgiveness.  I was FOREVER changed. I entered his presence bare and left full!

Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. Hebrews 4:13

Stop…

  1. That’s always scary to answer that kind of call because you’re doing it on your own…leaving yourself bare for God and open to everyone else in the room. But it’s all worth it for the renewal that comes afterwards.
