Our Homeschool Classroom 2013-2014

schoolroom

I have been blessed with a home that has a beautiful downstairs oversized living room. When we first looked at our how nearly 8 years ago and I saw the room I told my husband “this will be the coolest homeschool room” I have the ability to have a school room and a playroom in one…which is FANTASTIC! Everything in our school room has been accumulated over the last 6ish years and painted it more times than I can remember πŸ™‚

I’m finally ready to share my 2013-2014 classroom pics with you! Β I still have a few gutter shelves to add and couple finishing touches! Β Let me tell you, I had a ton of funΒ decorating. I love how it turned out this year & Β I hope you do, too! πŸ™‚

I have quite a bit of pics for you, so here we go!

Β a larger pulled back photo! The light gray low shelf my hubby built for me last night and I am IN LOVE!

Here is a closer look at my low floor shelf… it has four large “cubbies” perfect for things that take up lots of space like puzzles, books, games, act.

Here is a pull back of some of the gutter shelves as you can see they hold a lot! {we have 7 total and they cost maybe $35 when it was all said and done}

  1. Wow! I am having school room envy lol your space is ah-mazing! I have heard some good things about we choose virtue. I really want to look into it one day. Thank you for sharing.

    • Thank you Alicia! πŸ™‚ I would HIGHLY recommend We Choose Virtues! I’m actually doing a We Choose Virtues giveaway in the next week! If you haven’t subscribed yet be sure you do so you don’t miss out!

    • Hi Laura!! Thank you! Before we had the gutter shelves it wasnt like that everything was everywhere! I swear by gutter shelves now…they are cheap too! I think we spend somewhere are $25-$30 for two 10ft gutters and 14ish brackets at Home Depot! That equaled out to be 10 different shelves!

  2. This is by far the best room I’ve seen!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! It is so bright and colorful!!! I love the shelf your hubby built for you!! I totally want one under our big window for a window seat!! I definitely need to show my hubby this!!!
    I really love your Virtues wall too, heck….I LOVE IT ALL!!!

    • Oh my goodness Jackie! Thank you for the flattery! I love your kind words! Yes yes yes! Get your hubby right on that! I was so so so easy! We used that processed heavy board {the name has slipped my mind…Im sure both our hubs know;) } I drew up the plans and he did all the cutting! If you guys use the same type of board…use a brad nailer…although it is heavy it is delicate! It actually started out as window seat…but this ended up being a better fit for our school room. I plan to make another one for under a window upstairs! Good Luck! Once yours is built PLEASE post it on your blog and shoot me the link! πŸ™‚

      PS…I’m doing a We Choose Virtues giveaway in about a week!

  3. I love your classroom!!! It’s so ute and colorful. I love the gutter idea but how did you put them up? I want to put it for my school room. I wanted to know if you drilled them in or something else?
