ff5Gabbi received this beautiful Holo Pink FlexiFoot Advanced, she loves the color so much and it is SO sparkly! My little gymnast sure loves her FlexiFoot!

Pink not your thing? No worries, the FlexiFoot Arch Stretcher comes in a TON of different colors and patterns…serisould just have a look HERE!

A bit about FlexiFoot before we get into it!:

FlexiFoot is an arch stretcher designed to improve foot and arch flexibility for dancers, swimmers, divers, gymnasts and synchronized swimmers. FlexiFoot is a ruggedly constructed stretcher with a raised and padded heel holder that provides comfort and increased stretch range. This product is for serious athletes. Pointe range will improve with use but as with all athletic pursuits, listen to your body and work your way up to full stretch. Warm up prior to use, and stop if there is pain. Consult your coach, instructor or physician about use. Never use on an injured foot. Use equipment at your own risk. Improper use can lead to injury

ff1We knew the FlexiFoot was going to be perfect for Gabbi for a number of reasons, the biggest being that she has very stiff muscles and little flexibility in her ankles and feet, making it very difficult for her to keep her toes pointed. She also has a very difficult time keeping her leg in a straight line…hip to knee to ankle to point, she tends to roll her knee and ankle inward.

She has been using the FlexiFoot regularly before and after most practices and we have seen a HUGE improvement! One thing that we noticed right of the bat was the foot/ankle strength she gained, especially on the beam. During practice warm ups in the past I would see her get fatigued fairly quickly. Now, it’s a totally different story! She is able to be up on her toes as long as she needs to be, her Coach was so impressed by the quick change that she even asked what Gabbi had been doing!

Her points have changed beautifully as well. She has so much more arch flexibility.
That straight leg line I mentioned above has improved drastically. Another coach even told her how much change she had noticed! YAY FlexiFoot!

Her over all leg flexibility and form has been improving as well. While using her FlexiFoot her toe stays in a point training her little legs to stay that way, while her foot is both in and not in the FlexiFoot. Having her foot in the FlexiFoot has helped to keep her hips square which is huge for her because that has been a big struggle.

We love the FlexiFoot so much…I even use it from time to time. I have severe arch issues and suffer from extreme tightness in my feet and ankles. I was surprised at how much the FlexiFoot help me and honestly help alleviate some of the pain!!!

One of the biggest questions I get is “how long does Gabbi use her FlexiFoot?” This will defiantly range from athlete to athlete and ability. As it is right now she uses it most evenings for 3-5 minutes on each foot and before and after practice. She likes to read or watch TV while using it! She ALWAYS warms up before she uses it and stops if there is pain. The key is listening to your or your athletes body. Do not over stretch or you could end up with an injury. I cannot use it for nearly as long as Gabbi, but I’m getting there 🙂

Another question is about the FlexiFoot sizing, specifically if it only come in one size? No, actually the FlexiFoot Arch Stretcher comes in three different sizes

  • Youth: This size is for pre-pointe dancers and young athletes. The Youth heel is slightly lower and the stretch bands are closer to accommodate a small foot.
  • Adult: This size accommodates most athletes. The heel cradle is larger and the bands are further out from the heel section to allow for a larger foot.
  • X Large: This size is generally for men. The heel rest is larger and there is a greater distance between the band and heel rise to accommodate larger feet. The stretch bands are also slightly looser to allow a larger foot to be placed under the bands. For men, the Advanced model is recommended for stronger resistance.

It also comes in tow different styles

  • FlexiFoot: This stretcher has a double layer of extra heavy resistance Theraband to provide comfortable but strong resistance. This is excellent for new athletes with little point flexibility.
  • FlexiFoot Advanced with StretchLock: For advanced athletes that enjoy the Theraband resistance but benefit from the additional resistance of a hook and loop band that will lock in the desired place.

So finding your perfect fit it no problem!

Do you really need a arch stretcher if you don’t dance? Well pointed toes and ankle flexibility are pretty much a necessity in gymnastics. In fact gymnastics especially floor is incredible dance like {just youtube the floor routines for the Final 5 at the Rio Olympics} Pointed toes are need for handstand, splits, leaps and on and on.

Who would have thought she’d enjoy stretching as much as she does!

If you have a gymnast, dancer, swimmer or anything in between who struggles with foot flexibility I would defiantly encourage you to get your hands on a FlexiFoot!

FlexiFoot is more than just their Arch Stretcher! They also have the Pointe Prefector {Gabbi want one so bad!} After seeing it you’ll know why!

Point Perfecter is a multi-functional resistance system that strengthens your ankles, legs, and for certain athletes such as dancers, gymnasts, and divers, it focuses your attention on improving your toe point. Use this in combination with your FlexiFoot Arch Stretcher for the perfectly sculpted toe point.
