TKO Running Belt

cat-tko

As I have mentioned in the past I love TKO! So when I was approached to do a review on their Running Belt I was thrilled.

IMG_9139 copy

TKO was founded by Garry Kurtz in 1996, and what started as a boxing equipment company has evolved into a brand that offers everything from health and fitness equipment to accessories and apparel.

The TKO Running Belt is very affordable $12.99 and comes in four trim colors it’s

  • Water Resistant Design
  • 2 Expandable Pockets
  • Adjustable Waist Band
  • Reflective Trim
The TKO Running Belt is similar to the FlipBelt except instead of being a band the TKO has a buckle so no pulling it up or pulling it down over you head making it more functional in my opinion.
IMG_9147 copy
The TKO Running Belt is made out of very stretchy spandex/lycra type material. There are two zipper pockets, the smaller one can easily hold ID, debt cards, a snack bar {or what ever you fancy} the larger pocket can fit my iPhone 6+ {this was a concern when the belt arrived because it honestly doesn’t look like it could possibly stretch that much…but it amazingly does!}
IMG_9146 copy
Let me be honest with you for a minute…as soon as this arrived in the mail {it was actually lost and then delivered to another house in our neighborhood…thankfully we have great neighbors who brought it to us!} My husband totally took it over he is a long distance runner so he loved it at first sight! We hike a LOT and it has been a great addition. Before he would carry our full size camelbak backpack, which is great when we are doing serious hikes but when we are just doing a quick 4 miler it seems a little excessive, that’s when the TKO fitness belt comes into play. It also is awesome for HIIT workouts! With the zipper pockets you know your phone is secure no matter how much jumping, burpees or running you are doing!
IMG_9145 copy
The belt fits very comfortably, you almost can even tell you are wearing it because it’s so slim. It also has reflective bands and is water resistant! This is a fantastic feature especially for those hot summer runs and hikes.
The TKO Running Beltis not only awesome for runners but any type of activity! This belt is slim fitting so you could even where it instead of carrying a purse or a wallet. I honest think this would be a great accessory to maybe take to a theme park to Disney. This would also be great to use during international travels…a passport fits. Many years ago I traveled to Russia on a missions trip and really had a difficult time concealing my passport and visa {there had been a rise in them being stolen} unfortunately another person on the trip did have their passport and all their money stolen 😦 I can’t help but think that have this handy dandy little accessory would have prevented a lot distress, anger and frustration.

Our family was first introduced to What’s in the Bible? through the children’s director and dear friend at our former church a few years ago. From the first time our son saw What’s in the Bible he was HOOKED! Then we borrowed a DVD from and watched it as a family…and we ALL were hooked! Not only does What’s in the Bible? make understanding the Bible easy for kids, but it’s done in a really fun way! Phil Vischer and his staff has done a phenomenal job with these DVD’s! The knowledge our kids have gained is amazing, our oldest LOVES reading his bible so that he can increase his knowledge. In fact the kid is so smart he can easily enter into conversations with adults {both the What’s in the Bible? DVD and the fact his dad was a youth pastor and currently working towards a biblical degree, have contributed to our sons knowledge:)}

Our kids absolutely LOVE all the cute characters..and so do we!

My husband and I absolutely love that one of our favorite duos Rhett & Link {from Good Mythical Morning} sings fun songs…Like this one about Genesis in Vol. 1!

About Volume 1: In the Beginning

What’s in the Bible? Volume 1 is all about the beginning! It covers the book of Genesis and answers the following two questions:

Untitled-12

IMG_4474

Volume 1 covers some of the most popular Bible stories from the book of Genesis like, the story of creation, Adam and Eve, Abraham, Noah’s Ark, and so much more! They are SO MUCH fun! I love that kids are engaged and having fun while they are learning!

What’s in the Bible? is the perfect whole family bible time for our mornings! My  husband works from home so we are able to enjoy and learn through What’s in the Bible? together!

How we use the What’s in the Bible curriculum in our home:

In addition to the DVD’s there are a whole bunch of fun activities! {images below are for What’s in the Bible Vol. 1}

guide

IMG_4502

The Discussion guide asks all kinds of questions to review what your learned during the DVD!

  • What does the word “Testament” mean?
  • How do we know the Bible is true?
  • What does the word “inspired” mean?
  • Do you remember the name of the first book of the Bible? What does it mean?
  • How do you trust God with your life?
  • Proverbs 3:5 says “Trust the Lord with all your heard and do not lean on your own understanding.” What are ways you can apply this to your daily life?

I just saved this to ibooks on my iPad instead of printing it out.

pages

IMG_4496

There are a bunch of really fun coloring pages that go with Volume 1 like:

  • Volume 1 DVD Cover Coloring page
  • Adam and Eve
  • Cain and Abel
  • Abraham {Abraham and Isaac}
  • Noah’s Ark

I made each of the kids their very own coloring book!!

Flash

IMG_4512

These flashcards are AWESOME! They will help you and your kids remember all kinds of wonderful and important things from the DVD, such as:

  • What’s in the Bible?
  • How many books are in the Bible?
  • How many years did it take to write the Bible?

The Flash cards are really easy to make! Print, Cut out the cards horizontally {you will end up folding the cards so be sure you only cut on the horizontal lines}, Fold and tape together or if you want to get really fancy laminate them!!IMG_4476

The flash cards are my oldest sons favorite! I even printed a second set and instead of folding them I cut them all out and he play a memory game with them!

PSCL

IMG_4515

This is probably my kids favorite activity! They are able to learn all kinds of fun stuff while learning! For this activity there are some really fun printouts including

  • 3 pages of Puppets
  • Space Background
  • Garden of Eden BackgroundIMG_4480

IMG_4485

IMG_4483

The kids love making their own puppet shows to tell the story of Creation or Adam and Eve! They also enjoy making up their own fun and crazy puppet shows…but they always come back to God and Creation…gotta love that!

{I printed out the puppets on card stock and the back grounds on regular paper}

In addition to all this great stuff there are a ton of printable memory verse cards!

IMG_4511 IMG_4510

These are one of my most favorite printables from What’s in the Bible? As you can see they are small, perfect for little hands! The kids each pick their own card each week and we learn them all as a family! The kids love that each card has a fun character, I love that they are learning and memorizing bible verses! There are some verse cards without characters I picked these ones specifically because of the characters *there are a TON of verse cards in the activity section. I printed out a bunch of different ones on card stock.

You can download and print all the activities here! {Psst…there are all kinds of activities for ALL the volumes!}

Ok so if I haven’t made it totally clear…We LOVE What’s in the Bible!

God’s Word for Me Bible Storybook {Review and GIVEAWAY!!}

IMG_3907

God’s Word for Me Bible Storybook is a fun oversize book and is a little over 180 pages!  This Storybook is broken into three sections:

  • Stories from the Old Testament
  • Stories from the New Testament
  • Resources to Guide your Children

The Old Testament section has stories that you would absolutely expect like

  • Noah and the flood
  • Moses and the stubborn king
  • The story of Ruth

In addition it has stories that are not often in children’s story books such as:

  • Rehab in the spies
  • Hannah’s special babyThe New Testament has stories such as
  • a runaway boy comes home
  • Jesus is alive!
  • Zacchaeus the wee little man {I love that it has the song I learned when I was a little girl}

The Resources to Guide your Children section is my absolute favorite it has:

  • Memory Verse Chart
  • Songs about Jesus
  • The 12 Apostles
  • Reading Chart
  • The Lord’s Prayer
  • The 10 Commandments

and more

Each story is about 4 to 6 pages and includes three fun little boxes: Remember God’s word, Do God’s word, and pray God’s word!

IMG_3917

I absolutely love God’s Word for Me Bible Storybook because it’s not your average storybook! It doesn’t just rewrite our favorite bible stories and adds fun pictures, it uses actual Bible scripture using the The International Children’s Bible, making it perfect for young readers!

The God’s Word for Me Bible Storybook is fantastic for parents read to their kids, as well as perfect for your youngest readers to read on their own or to younger siblings! It’s also perfect for your young readers Bible quiet time!
IMG_3913
From the moment we opened God’s Word for me Bible Storybook my kids have been in love with it! My oldest is daily gathering his brother and sister on the couch to read to them! Each day he picks different Bible stories, it is absolutely precious watching him explaining to them what it says and reading and memorizing the bible verse at the end of each story! It’s so heartwarming and wonderful to see them, not only build their knowledge of the Bible and The Lord, but also seeing them come together as siblings and strengthen that bond as well!

After just a day with God’s Word for Me Bible Storybook I would highly recommend this to any parent or grandparent  or anyone who is regularly around young children and young readers!
