God Bless our Country is the sweetest little board book

unnamed-10

unnamed-12Each page throughout the book has fun rhyming text with sweet little animals acting out the text. Each page has different animal families or different groups of animals beautiful illustrated our favorites are the raccoon family, the chipmunk family, the beaver family, the otter family and the cougar family.

God Bless our Country mainly focuses on summer months and all kinds of fun summer activities such as camping, swimming, picnicking and fireworks, my kids loved this because summer is their favorite time of year!

I especially love the last page of the book!

unnamed-11

I feel like it really captures the blessing that God has given us and our children!

We have been enjoying this book as a family and will for years to come! I think God Bless our Country would make a very sweet birthday gift especially to a little one who has a birthday in the summer. God Bless our Country would also make a great addition to any home library and for sure perfect for Grandmas house {my mom lives on the lake so this is perfect!!}

Brave Girls: Beautiful You 90 Day Devotional Review {Giveaway!}

This post is sponsored by Thomas Nelson. All opinions are 100% my own. See my full disclosure policy.

TNM

I recently had the privilege of reviewing another awesome Brave Girls 90 day devotional, this is the 3rd one in the series and is called “Brave Girls: Beautiful You

unnamed-9

The brave girls are a HUGE favorite in our house! My daughter absolutely adores the “Brave Girl Bible stories” book and wears her Brave Girls shirt almost every single day! She has also loved the other two 90 day devotionals, “Brave Girls: Better Than Perfect” and “Brave Girls: Faithful Friends” Since we know and love entire Tommy Nelson Brave Girl series I knew to expect something great and I was right!

This wonderful devo takes your daughter through the 90 days with writings from three of the brave girls Hope, Glory and Gracie (I absolutely love this aspect because it makes it seem so much more personal for the little girl reading it or having it read to her.)

During the 90 days this book strives to show girls that our beauty comes from within and God made us just the way that we are and we are perfect in his eyes. As a mother I want my daughter to be comfortable in her own skin and to know exactly that, that God created her just the way she is!

The Devo is broken into six sections:

  • Beautiful Basics:
    Showing us that yes we are all flawed but we are beautiful because of who made us!
  • Radiant Reflections:
    Shows us we are sinners but God loves us despite that and will keep helping us fight future temptation!
  • Works of Beauty:
    Shows us we are truly beautiful when we love and help others and have a kind Christ like spirit!
  • Beautifully Clothed:
    Show us that God can change us when we take off our old wardrobe {life without Christ} and embrace him our new wardrobe {life with Christ}!
  • Kingdom Fitness:
    This reminds us that our bodies are a holy temple for the Lord and should be treated that way!
  • Creative Beauty:
    Shows us that we are uniquely and beautifully made the way God wants us to be!

“Learn how Special God thinks you are and how you can be bold, brave and Be-you-tiful!” – {from the back cover}

As with all of the devotionals in the brave girl series each day has a bible verse, a 1 or 2 paragraph devotion and ends with a sweet little prayer.  We have absolutely love this book in our house!

This is a wonderful Devotional that I highly recommend Brave Girls: Beautiful You to anyone with a daughter/granddaughter age 6 to teen!

Back of the Book:

“I’m not tired, Mama.”

With so many games still to play at the fall festival, Milo can’t possibly go to bed yet!
All decked out in his roly-poly pumpkin costume. Milo pleads,
“Just a little longer?” -four little words that moms and dads everywhere know so very well.
But with each game played, Milo’s eyes get just a little heavier.
Bright, happy illustrations follow Milo’s fun as he grows sleepier and sleepier.
And when Mom and Dad find him asleep in the hay-bale maze, there’s only one thing left to say . . .
Good Night, Little Pumpkin!

{Chances are if your country music fan than the name Josh Turner means something to you}

My husband is the most amazing man that I know! He is supportive, loving and kind. We have been through more in our 13 year marriage then many who have spent a life time together. He is my other half and my partner always forever. I couldn’t have been more thrilled to share this wonderful book with him! It’s very rare that I get to review a book for guys!

aesg

My husband and I both have been huge Josh Turner fan for many many years so the opportunity to get this book was awesome!

His new book Man Stuff: a devotional on faith, family, and fatherhood has quickly become one of my husbands favorite reads!

Here are some of my hubby’s thoughts!
Man Stuff is VERY Uplifting and encouraging. From the very first page it was extremely thought-provoking and convicting. I love that it challenges men to have integrity and to strive to be men of Faith!

This is great little book that consists of short stories told and recalled by Josh Turner over various stages of his life. Along with each story there is a corresponding Bible verse which I really like. Josh Turner talk about a number of things including fatherhood, cherishing your wife as well as relating to your wife, balancing family and a demanding career. I could completely identify with everything he talked about! He also includes stories about people who have influenced his life including his grandparents and his dad. I love the way he shares who he really is and talks about his love for fishing and hunting, his relationship with his and the importance of praying for his three young sons. Proving that he is a normal guy who loves his wife and kids and most importantly God!

The short devotionals are very easy-to-read they are only one or two pages and as I mentioned above very thought-provoking! The forward by Jace Robertson of Duck Dynasty it great too!

God Is Always Good {Review & Giveaway}

This post is sponsored by Thomas Nelson. All opinions are 100% my own. See my full disclosure policy.

IMG_4611

On the back Cover:

You can always trust God. Bad things may happen.
But God always loves you, and He is always good.
God created this world and filled it with wonder and goodness. But sadly,
bad things happen sometimes too. Friends move away, and storm winds blow.
There are bullies, sickness, sadness, even death. But God Is Always Good
 will help you see that God is bigger than any badness.
With soft, tender words and scriptures, God Is Always Good offers
reassurance and comfort. Sweet animal characters fill the pages, gently
illustrating how God never leaves us. He is present in every smile, every hug,
every helping hand. Because no matter what happens in this world . . .

God is Always Good!

IMG_4638In God is Always Good little bunny asks his mama all kinds of questions like:  “Mommy what is God like?”  “Does God make bad things happen?”  and “Where is God when bad happen?” Follow along my mama answers the inquisitive little bunnys questions. In God is Always Good does such a wonderful job answering some of the really tough questions like when Little Bunny’s mama how sad he is when someone dies and she told him “God made Heaven wonderful”  This book couldn’t have come at better time for my family. Over the last few months we have dealt with disappointment and heart ache and supported friend going through heart ache, from family deaths to terminal diagnosis. My oldest son is only 9, but in his young life has had two cousins in Heaven {they both died as infants, neither to SIDS}. As Elias gets older he has more and more questions, he remembers his cousin Olivia’s funeral. As you can imagine it’s very difficult to have answers to these questions. This little book gently covers a lot of the questions he asks about the deaths of his cousins. I think it has really comforted him when he is feeling sad. {The twins were born 3 years after Olivia died so they don’t really ask questions}

There is a page about change as well. I loved this, my kids do not like change…It’s scary, it’s different, it’s not always happy and fun, but it is apart of life. God is Always Good works so hard to instill safety and comfort in the arms of the Lord!

Inside the book each page shoes little bunny asking his mama question and her sweet and gentle response. Along with beautiful illustrations, each page has an applicable Bible verse on it!

IMG_4636

I love the question “Is there anything God can’t do?” Mama bunny answers in such a wonderful way “Well, there are a couple things he can’t do. He can’t tell a lie and you can’t break a promise” I just love that. As I read that my kids had such big smiles on their faces. They felt safe knowing that “God keeps every promise he makes” ! This pages corresponding Bible verse was perfection

“What He says He will do, he does. What He promises, He keeps.”

Numbers 23:19

Not only does this book answer some really hard questions but it also brings comfort to even the littlest listener!

The book ends with John 3:16 and “God is always good!”

If you have children that have or are dealing with death of a family member, friend or pet, anxiety or stress over change or is dealing with bullies, I would HIGHLY recommend this book for your family.

Little Critters Board Books {review}

TNM

IMG_4013If you were born in the vicinity of 1975 or later, than chances are you are extremely familiar with the Little Critters book series! Growing up these were some of my most favorite books and I have a huge collection to prove it!

Each month I am given the opportunity Tommy Nelson as a Tommy Mommy to review some really great books! This month I was beyond thrilled when I found out that two of the books that I would be reviewing two Little Critters books!

As with all little critters books these two books have fun illustrations they’re engaging and I have a wonderful moral and message to the story!

My kids were so excited when they saw the two little critters books because their entire lives they have been surrounded by my paperback books from when I was a child (thank you mom for keeping those!)
IMG_4016
The first little critters books and then tell you about is

We All Need Forgiveness
We-all-need-forgiveness
Forgive each other because the Lord for gave you.
Colossians 3:13

This adorable book follows Littler Critter through a series of accidents where he asked for forgiveness…but when the tables are turned he finds it more difficult to forgive and move on. He has hurt his friends but is it too late?

This book does a fantastic job of relaying the importance of forgiveness to small children.

My twins wanted to talk about each event in the book and tell why it was important to ask for forgiveness and forgive…it was precious listening to then talk about it with each other!

IMG_4019

Next is…

Being Thankful”

Being-Thankful
Thank the Lord because he is good. His love continues forever. Psalm 107:1

In this book Little Critter is struggling with wanting things he doesn’t have. He sees things that his friends have that he doesn’t and he gets mad! After spending time with his grandparents he realizes that he is a lucky little critter and needs to be thankful for everything he has…because he has a lot more than a lot of others. Little Critter even get to help teach his little to be thankful for what she has.

The twins LOVED this book so much! They wanted to tell me all the things they are thankful for. This book couldn’t have come at a better time, they have recently starting to say “I want” and “I need” an awful lot. This book contributed to stopping that want want want mentality in its tracks (thank you Lord!)

I absolutely love that these two books are board books, I love the extra sturdiness of them.

If you have little ones {children, grand kids, nieces/nephews} I recommend adding these adorable books to your bookshelf!

Share a Blessing {review}

TNM

I am so excited about Share a Blessing! When my daughter saw this book she absolutely freaked out she loves coloring stickers and giving people cards share a blessing was pretty much tailor-made for her!Unknown

This a genius little book is full of 24 different cards and over 1000 stickers so your child’s imagination for these cards is endless!

Recently I was given the opportunity to crochet a hat for a five-year-old girl who is currently going through chemo after being diagnosed with cancer this summer. This is not the first time that I have crocheted hat for a child going through chemo but this was the first time that I did after receiving The Share a blessing book so my daughter and I decided that we would make this little five-year-old girl beautiful card to go with her beautiful hat and tell her that she’s a fighter and we are praying!

IMG_4171

Each card and stickers are beautifully coordinated together and each card has either an encouraging message or beautiful Bible verse!

I love that my daughter has been able to express her creativity as well as to show her sweet kind hard she loves sending cards to her grandma and her daddy and even me!

Do you have daughter {or son} who loves creating things or maybe a granddaughter? I would highly recommend share a blessing to you! Or maybe you were sending out cards! I would totally get this book for myself I kind want to take it for my daughter 🙂
IMG_4279
The only thing that I would ever change about Share a blessing is that it could be 10 times bigger with hundreds of different cards to choose from!
